A 40-year-old La Crosse man has been accused of failing to return a vehicle to his employer after he was fired from his job.
Ross A. Kusnierz was charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with a single felony count of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
According to the criminal complaint, the owner of a La Crosse construction firm told police Kusnierz failed to return 1997 Chevy Lumina after he was terminated April 9. The employer said Kusnierz approached him April 10 and asked him if he needed help building a deck. The employer said he declined the offer and asked Kusnierz to return the vehicle. The employer said he texted Kusnierz April 12 about the vehicle but got no response.
Police located the vehicle April 15 in the parking lot at Walmart in Onalaska and arrested Kusnierz as he left the store.
