Liberty Pole Cemetery was damaged by vandals last week.
The cemetery, located on Black River Road in the town of Franklin, had four headstones tipped over and flower pots strewn about.
Cemetery caretaker Eldon Gardner said the headstones were not damaged and were quickly put back in place.
Gardner discovered the damage on Monday, June 30, after a motorist noticed some things out of place and called him. Gardner said the four stones tipped over were next to the roadway. He said they were likely tipped over sometime during the previous weekend.
The Vernon County Sheriff's Department is investigating the matter to see if there is any connection between the incident and other recent acts of vandalism in area cemeteries.
The Viroqua Cemetery was vandalized in early June when more than 40 stones were damaged and spray-painted. The Shreve Cemetery in the town of Greenwood near Hillsboro was vandalized on June 2 when vandals used five headstones to make a fire pit.
Vernon County Chief Deputy Jim Hanson said the investigation is proceeding, but if anyone has any information about any of the incidents they can contact local law enforcement or call Vernon County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-657-6868 or go to www.vernoncrimestoppers.com
