Vernon County raises price for marriage license
Getting married can be expensive, but those having June weddings in Vernon County will be shelling out an additional $20.
A resolution passed by the Vernon County Board of Supervisors says beginning June 1 the fee for a marriage license issued in Vernon County will increase from $50 to $70. The increase isn’t out of line when considering the costs in adjacent counties. A marriage license costs $75 in Crawford County and $70 in Monroe and La Crosse counties.
Those looking for a bargain can consider getting hitched in Juneau or Richland counties, where marriage licenses cost $60 and $50, respectively.
