Flood watch issued by National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Vernon County due to rainfall that is expected to fall through Monday night into Tuesday.

The watch includes Vernon, Crawford, Grant and Richland counties through “late tonight” the NWS reported Monday at 11 a.m.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding due to weather forecasts. Residents should monitor later forecasts for possible warnings. Also, those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
